As a member of the DevOps team you will design, implement and operate mission critical systems that ensure the performance, availability and scalability of the ProtectWise platform. You will be responsible for delivering new software to our customers by writing code to manage our cloud platforms and large fleets of application services, and collaborating with other engineers to improve observability and scalability. You are energized about systems engineering and infrastructure as code.
Things you will do:
* Build the systems that deliver and support the ProtectWise Grid, ensuring the reliability and availability of our services
* Develop tooling to monitor, scale and support our cloud platform
* Work closely with other engineers, particularly in the areas of observability, security, scaling and fault tolerance
* Bring new ideas and experience to our engineering team
* Work on huge, interesting problems: multi-petabyte databases, thousands of servers
* Be awesome, curious, humble and driven to learn
About you:
* Prefer automation over manual processes
* Enjoy rapid iteration and agile methodologies
* Are comfortable releasing a quick proof of concept and adding features & polish over time
* Have experience in both development and operations; can write code and troubleshoot Linux and IP network problems
Our environment:
We want smart, capable, and experienced people who can learn our tools (and suggest new ones!) as needed. If you have experience with our tools great, but if not and are excited about the role please apply. However, you should have working knowledge of:
* Configuration management tools such as Chef, Puppet, Salt, Ansible and Terraform (we primarily use Chef and Terraform today)
* At least a couple of common programming languages (we use Ruby, Python, Go, JavaScript, and Scala)
* Databases (we have very large Cassandra/Solr databases as well as some PostgreSQL and ElasticSearch)
* Cloud computing platforms (much of our infrastructure is in AWS)
