Role Purpose

The DevOps Engineer provides key expertise to projects, designs, evaluations, and roadmap development. This role supports the Development and Engineering teams by designing, building, and maintaining the systems and processes that drive product innovation at Bluprint. As a DevOps Engineer, you will ensure the technical health of the cloud infrastructure and release management systems

Responsibilities

  • Build systems and automation to support Engineering initiatives across the organization.

  • Participate in code reviews and system audits

  • Participate in 24/7 incident response rotations

  • Serve as a SME in DevOps principles and frameworks

  • Participate in evaluations of vendor software, open-source tools, and internally developed systems – taking consideration of best practices in Security, Monitoring, Maintainability, and SRE principle

Basic Qualifications

    5+ years experience in System Administration, DevOps Engineering, SRE, or equivalent IT Operations role
      3+ years experience in Application, System, or Website development
        3+ in administrating Linux systems
          Strong grounding in networking fundamentals (OSI model, routing, load balancing, etc)
            Minimum 3 years experience working in cloud-based infrastructures. AWS preferred.
              Prior experience participating incident response and on-call rotations
                Understands and adapts DevOps principles

                      This position reports to a team headquartered in Denver, CO. Remote workers will be considered.

                        Hands-on experience in Linux system administration including resource management, network operations, and process management
                          Illustrates deep understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle
                            Hands-on experience developing software, libraries, tools, or web applications
                              Understands Change Management strategies and implementations
                                Understands different monitoring systems and strategies for tracking health for different kinds of systems or processes
                                  Experienced in building and maintaining CI/CD automation systems
                                    Experienced in PCI compliance standards
                                    Understands web application security concepts such as XSS, CSRF, Session Hijacking, and SQLi
                                      Understands administrative security concepts such as Firewalls, IPS, IDS, User Directories, ACL, VPN, MFA
                                        Experienced in container concepts and container runtimes such as Docker
                                          Experienced in operating containerized applications and job tasks
