Job Duties and Responsibilities
Device Engineering Technician
The Device Engineering Technician is part of the Device/Network Solutions Engineering organization and is responsible for validating devices for Dish's 5G Enterprise, Wholesale, MNO/MVNO and roaming efforts. DISH's vision for its 5G SA network is to utilize O-RAN and cloud-native core technologies operating on a flexible and open compute platform. Device Engineering Technicians play a critical role in ensuring that devices perform as expected in support of this vision, with validated features and verified performance against quality assurance metrics.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities for a Device Engineering Technician

  • Execute test plans and functionality audits as defined by the Device Engineering Management Team in support of the Device/Network organization consistently delivering User Equipment (UE) Technical Acceptance (TA's) to device OEMs with timeliness and quality.
  • Aid in the creation of test plans for UEs.
  • Generate feedback for engineering review to assist with the resolution of design, requirements and process problems.
  • Support Device Engineers interacting with post device launch quality assurance (QA) teams in troubleshooting and root cause analysis of device issues in the field and facilitate subsequent corrective action recommendations to vendors.
  • With automation always top of mind, help process owners develop and continuously improve systems and tools for effective task execution by your team.


Skills, Experience and Requirements
Qualifications

  • Associate of Science in a technical discipline or equivalent experience required. Bachelor of Science preferred. EET, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science preferred.
  • Technical familiarity with 4G and 5G cellular devices and networks is required.
  • Experience in a high-availability, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong customer service focus and experience working with operations.
  • Proven problem solving, organization and verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to influence thinking or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations.

  • Be fully engaged, acting as a persistent advocate for your teams and the outcomes they seek with a bias toward action without being abrasive.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization through conventional methods (verbal and written).
  • Other duties may be assigned as required.


Salary Range
Compensation: $65,800.00/Year - $94,000.00/Year
