You love people. You love technology. You love people who love technology. And you like helping them when they run into a snag here or there.

At Occipital, we’re powering the frontier of spatial computing — using computer vision to 3D reconstruct and understand your surroundings so that software can operate over real world spaces. We’ve launched many products in this area, from hardware like Structure Sensor, PX-80 and Bridge to software platforms like Occipital Tracking all the way to end-consumer apps such as Canvas, TapMeasure and 360 Panorama. Our customers range from 10,000-employee enterprises to individual doctors, interior decorators, and hobbyists.

Collectively, our products are used and loved by millions of people worldwide. Every now and then, however, a few of them run into a problem.

That’s where we need an exceptionally personable, collaborative and technically adept person to come in and make sure they’re not only heard but helped as well.

Candidates must be located or willing to relocate to Boulder, Colorado. Compensation will be based on experience and skill, commensurate with market rates and will include both salary and equity in Occipital. Occipital is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate based on race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status. We are committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment to our employees and welcome input from candidates and employees on how we can enhance our inclusiveness.

The ideal candidate will have these skills:

  • Technical savvy: Our products are simple to use, but each are part of a bigger story with its own deep technical foundation. Many of our most communicative developers are highly knowledgeable about that story, and expect us to understand it as well as they do.
  • Attention to detail: We strive for perfection in all that we do, whether it is creating a beautifully simple user interface, or writing clear, concise and error-free responses to our developers.
  • Comfort with ambiguity: Coding doesn’t always come with well-defined answers or common questions. The ability to think on the fly and find the right resources for an elusive answer are key.
  • Patience: It is a virtue that both our team and developers appreciate and desire.
  • Drive and responsibility: We’re all driven self-starters. If we’re blocked in doing our job, we proactively find out how to unblock ourselves and keep moving forward.
  • Fun to be around: We spend a lot of time together, so it’s important that we all like each other too. We have a diverse team from many different backgrounds, but the one common thread is that we’re all nice people who like to make work fun.

What you'll do:

  • Manage the public deployments of our Structure SDKs.
  • Be the first point of contact for developer questions via our ticketing system, internal chat system and our community forums.
  • Ensure that all incoming questions in the above channels and others are being answered.
  • Communicate trends, features requests and bugs to Structure Division
  • Review App Submissions for Structure SDK (for iOS).
  • Connect customers with 3rd party developers to build apps using Structure SDK.
  • Create developer oriented materials to help get them excited about Structure SDK AND make it easier for them to integrate into it.
  • Become the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Structure SDK from the perspective of an external developer - you should be as good at using our Structure SDK as anyone.
  • Ensure our community forums are vibrant, active and supportive.
  • Empower yourself to dig into the core of developer inquiries.

The ideal candidate will have experience equivalent to:

  • 1 year experience with XCode
  • 2 years experience with C/C++
  • 2 years Customer/Developer Support
  • 1 year Community Development

The ideal candidate will have education equivalent to:

  • Bachelors of Science Degree or related fields or equivalent experience in the industry. (We’re open to looking at projects and your portfolio to see if you have the experience we need.)
