Role description
This role is all about assisting new and existing partners leveraging the Xero developer ecosystem in order to create best of breed business apps in the cloud. You will work alongside other developer evangelists, API product and GTM teams in establishing great partnerships around the world.
Key responsibilities
Developer evangelists participate in integration discussions with partners to ensure best practices during implementation. Developer evangelists also review and certify integrations to ensure high standards are maintained in the app partner program. Through creative developer content and public speaking, developer evangelists inspire developers to build on Xero APIs and platform.
What you will do
- Assist prospective app partners with initial enquiries
- Answer technical questions from app partners building to Xero APIs
- Undertake new partner integration certification testing and reviews
- Employ analytical skills and creativity to help solve for complex use cases
- Manage relationships with assigned app partners
- Create and improve developer documentation
- Engage in outreach to increase awareness of Xero APIs and app partner program
- Create content for and speak at developer events
- Communicate with the Xero developer community: developer forums participation, tweets & blog posts will be expected output
- Work with the Xero sales, business development and customer support teams, ensuring they have awareness of our app partners
- Work collaboratively and positively with the entire ecosystem team to ensure we have the best ecosystem in SaaS

- Management of assigned prospective partner pipeline and prioritization of attention to the highest value opportunities
- Certification of new developers and app partners
- Timely and accurate assistance to prospective and existing partners
- Evangelizing use and adoption of Xero's developer platform
- Technical content creation and identifying automation opportunities to prevent support enquiries

Critical competencies
- Self-motivated and team oriented; able to work both autonomously and effectively as part of a geographically dispersed team
- Ability to discuss technical topics and convey complexity in a clear and concise way
- Passion for inspiring developers through creative code and content
- Excellent communication and technical writing skills
- Confident in conversations about APIs, accounting and driving commercial success
- Able to operate at multiple levels - executing strategy, down to the nitty gritty details
- Organized and capable of handling multiple projects at once
Experience
- 2+ years' experience building web-based or native mobile applications
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages: C#, Java, Ruby, Python, PHP, Objective-C, Swift or JavaScript
- Experience building apps with developer tools, SDKs and APIs
- Experience with the following front-end technologies: JavaScript, CSS, HTML
- Experience participating in developer communities online or in person
- Experience presenting technical topics to a developer audience preferred but not essential
