What You Will Be Doing
The selected candidate will be responsible for planning, resource allocation, management status reporting, daily team meetings and successful release delivery. This role will need to coordinate activities and deliverables across multiple teams in our small company, working closely with customer care, sales, marketing and other IT/development partners.
  • Create an energized work environment
  • Set timelines for development tasks
  • Ensure proper estimating of workflow
  • Keep engineers on track and on time
  • Help younger engineers improve their coding skills
  • Help younger engineers improve their estimating skills
  • Assign tasks to engineers
  • Work with Product manager on timelines and prioritization
  • Make sure engineers are following best practices (unit tests, code commenting, etc)
 
What You Need for this Position
Required knowledge:
  • Solid leadership skills with 3 years experience
  • Knowledge of excellent engineering processes and tools
Working knowledge and familiarity with:
  • HTML/CSS
  • Javascript
  • Angular
  • jQuery
  • git or mercurial
  • Java (or similar high level OO language, such as C++, Actionscript, C#, etc.)
  • Modular and Object Oriented Design Principles
  • Full Stack Web application development
Nice To Have:
  • SCSS
  • Knowledge of cross-browser issues
  • Knowledge of common web application security issues and solutions
  • Zurb Foundation
  • Grunt
  • Node.js
  • Bower
  • RESTful APIs (from both client and server-side)
  • Java
  • Spring
  • MongoDB (or similar NoSQL experience)
