About the team

The Data Science Applications team designs and implements machine/deep learning and image processing algorithms on GBDX, in order to create information products from our imagery that can provide our customers with actionable insight at a large scale. With petabytes of satellite imagery sourced from the world’s leading constellation, we are in no lack of pixels. Making sense of the pixels is the real challenge: from detecting settlements in remote parts of the world to high resolution mapping of urban environments, we continuously look for innovative ways to monitor and understand our changing world. Role

We are looking for a deep learning expert to be an integral part of our effort to build the most accurate, scalable imagery information products in the industry. The candidate should have:

(a) a proven academic and/or industry and/or competition track record on deep learning for the analysis of visual imagery, and object detection, semantic/instance segmentation in particular; 

(b) solid coding experience, preferably in Python;

(c) excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Experience with one or more of the following is a plus but it is not a prerequisite:

(d) satellite imagery and remote sensing;

(e) AWS and Docker.
