The Data Engineer is a team-oriented, innovation-driven individual who loves to focus on data integrity and how data works across multiple platforms. Like wielding a technological force, we need someone who can stick the light side (data from our future website build) and the darkside (our current environment) together. This will require a Jedi that has mastered the art of Extraction, Transform, and Load frameworks. This role will help elevate the talent on the team and also provide us with a high level of architecture going forward. Ever wanted to build something incredible? We might just be the team for you! 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop ETL Architecture and data pipelines to/from multiple sources

• Maintain operational excellence when it comes to data integrity

• Build, maintain, support, and refactor as needed 

• Shape business data infrastructure strategy, including data warehousing, analytics methods platforms

• Perform SQL code reviews and refactor inefficient code

• Based on requirements from SMEs and product management, help to develop new and innovative data driven solutions

• Load multi-source data to one composite BI toolkit

• Enhance and maintain the existing architecture that includes data cleansing, data quality verification, and data consolidation/removal

• Work with a variety of raw data sources to load and transform data into pipelines that support the Analytics Teams

• Explore ways to enhance data quality, visibility and reliability

• Establish and operate governance over business data, including identifying sources of truth, systems of record for business information, security, and metadata

EXPERTISE

• 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer

• Depth and breadth of knowledge in Python, SQL, and data visualization/exploration Best Practices

• Experience with SQL Server Database Architecture and Design, SQL Server 2016+ strongly recommended 

• Technical expertise with data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques

• Experience with Agile methodologies 

• Previous experience in developing BI Toolkit applications

• Strong debugging and performance profiling skills

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITY

• Highly skilled in SQL and Python required

• Hands-on experience leading database architecture

• Knowledge of data gathering, scrubbing, and transformation techniques for data sets of varying size and quality

• Understanding of statistical methods and their use in providing high-quality reporting

• Ability to document data processing methods, decisions, and approaches for knowledge sharing within the team and across the company

• Exemplary written and verbal communication skills

• Ability and passion to work in an Agile environment with cross-functional teams

• Ability to develop, manage and provide feedback for the refactor of data models

• Experience with model-predictive control algorithms is an advantage

POSITION SCHEDULE DETAILS

• Full-time position (Monday - Friday)

• Weekend work, based on various project needs
