Contractor - Software Engineer - Enterprise Knowledge Graph
The Software Engineer – EKG will work closely with the data science team in building the foundation for our Enterprise Knowledge Graph. At GHX we work to solve deep technical problems that improve the world of healthcare, and the EKG will play a key role in our future offerings. Under the supervision of data science leadership, the SE-EKG will be responsible for automating data ingestion and alignment processes and leveraging existing machine learning components in the creation of a well-structured knowledge graph. The SE-EKG will interact with other members of GHX to define system requirements and necessary functionality in an Agile environment.Key responsibilities:
- Work with teammates to formulate and document design and implementation
- Understand the key functionality and data models required in a knowledge graph solution
- Translate high level requirements into software solutions
- Interact directly and works closely with team members
- Incorporate / understand existing machine learning components
Key duties:
- Build software components and complete applications using Python
- Incorporate results from rest APIs (e.g. working with JSON)
- Build infrastructure for data ingestion processes
- Construct complex queries (e.g. Cypher/Gremlin and SQL) to satisfy requirements
Key competencies:
- Ability to design and implement well-structured (maintainable and scale-able) software components
- Ability to rapidly prototype and evaluate solutions
- Ability to collaborate on all aspects of development process
- Strong team player, makes a valuable contribution to team objectives, displays trust and mutual understanding, accepts constructive feedback
Required education and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or in hard science / engineering with extensive programming experience)
- 2 years experience building applications using Python
- Experience querying databases using SQL
- Experience building software components
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with knowledge graphs
- Familiarity with AWS
- Experience processing large amounts of data from disparate sources
- Experience working with graph database systems (RDF , LPG (e.g Neo4J), Gremlin, Cyper)
- Interest in data science
