Component Team API/Web Developer
- Database development, including developing new stored procedures in MS SQL Server 2014, and understanding and improving stored procedures written by others. Software Engineers need to be able to use the following tools for both new SQL development and troubleshooting issues in existing procedures: SSIS to move data between environments, MS SQL Profiler for researching performance issues, and Microsoft Execution Plans to help in optimizing stored procedures.
- Ability to research and troubleshoot issues with financial reference data. This requires an understanding of how financial instruments are uniquely identified and familiarity with financial reference data hierarchies.
- Setting up feeds to pick CSV files off of an FTP server and load them into our database.
- Production support, requiring strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, multitasking, and excellent communication skills. They must be able to track down underlying issues based on descriptions and screenshots from clients, and be able to resolve problems that occur within SQL scripts, data in SQL tables, C# scripts, feed integration processes, and with financial reference data. In addition, they need to proactively communicate their progress and clearly explain the issue to the relevant parties.
Software Engineers must also work both independently and with other Engineering teams to complete projects on time. As a member of multiple project teams, they need to participate in cross-team collaboration with other engineering teams to solve problems and have strong communication and multitasking skills. They must also adhere to established best practices and help enforce those practices across the team through peer code reviews and a strong attention to detail.
Requirements: Bachelors Degree in technical field (i.e. Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering (any) Experience: 2 years of web development experience Post Baccalaureate Experience Accepted
