Job Description:

The Competitive Solution Engineer role at Zoom is an exciting and rewarding position. This individual will focus on deep analysis of the competitive offers and understanding market trends to improve Zoom’s technical go-to-market strategy. We are looking for a Subject Matter Expert who can help shape the go-to-market strategy through technical competitive analysis, research and monitoring of trends.

The primary responsibility of this role is hands-on competitive architectural assessment, testing and analysis, translating technical advantages into sales differentiators and training the sales force. This opportunity offers rapid advancement for high performing talent.

Must be able to operate autonomously and effectively prioritize initiatives to maximize impact and Zoom revenue.

Responsibilities: What you will do

Deliver actionable technical competitive intelligence and impact analysis based on:

• Competitive Teardown – candidates in this role will focus on hands-on analysis of Tier 1 and Tier 2 UCaaS vendors and comparing their offers against the Zoom platform.

• Solutions Analysis - Execute competitive benchmark testing and comparative analysis ranging from feature-level to architecture and solution level.

• Cross-functional Interaction - Provide tactical input to Product Management and Engineering to accurately focus product direction and strategy.

• Training programs - Support the execution of sales force training programs to improve competitive awareness.

• Content Creation - Contribute and collaborate with sales operations in gathering, producing, and activating competitive knowledge base through deliverables including collateral, battlecards, and whitepapers.

Requirements 

Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work autonomously and have a big impact.

• A profound competitive mentality and analytical skills to see impact where it is hidden.

• Hands-on experience with Video, Voice, and UCaaS platforms and vendors, including adjacent components of an end-to-end client deployment.

• Demonstrable testing and benchmarking experience, of full end-to-end collaboration solutions or networking setups.

• Excellent candidates must be highly organized, and proficient in technical documentation, knowledge sharing, and synthesizing results. Skilled an effective story-telling presenter.

• Previous competitive analysis experience is considered a plus.

• This role stands at the intersection of numerous UCaaS, Infrastructure, and applications technologies, so strong video, voice, and networking hands-on expertise is mandatory.
