Location: Lakewood, CO

Travel: Less than 20%

We are an award-winning company based in Denver, Colorado. MedKeeper has been named the KLAS Category Leader for IV Workflow Management in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020 as well as “Top Vendor-In-Use” by Pharmacy Purchasing and Products (PP&P) for our PharmacyKeeper Verification application. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and deploy systems on AWS to enable a robust and redundant system architecture.
  • Design new secure and scalable production systems leveraging cloud services.
  • Keep up with AWS maintenance requirements to avoid unplanned outages.
  • Manage internal monitoring and alerting systems to ensure production infrastructure health.
  • Support the maintenance of PharmacyKeeper infrastructure including SAAS, dedicated SAAS and enterprise deployments.
  • Coordinate with the appropriate internal teams in order to deploy software releases and system changes.
  • Maintain internal system integrations (i.e. SalesForce and Development alerting systems etc.).
  • Develop and maintain documentation on infrastructure, systems, and disaster recovery methodology.
  • Identify and raise awareness to cost optimization opportunities and make recommendations on how to best leverage cloud services.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or relevant field required.
  • 2+ years’ experience in Systems Engineer role is required.
  • Production Linux systems administration, configuration, troubleshooting and automation experience is required.
  • Experience with IAC and server configuration management tools (Terraform, Packer, Ansible etc.) is preferred.
  • Scripting skills (Python/Bash) is preferred.
  • Experience with Docker and container orchestration (Kubernetes) is a plus.
  • Must be a self-starter and self-motivated employee with a passion for innovation.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and technical aptitude.
  • Possess a desire for continuous improvement.
  • Ability and desire to work autonomously in a progressive, fast paced environment.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and as a resource with internal teams, as well as external customers.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.

Within one month in this role, you will:

  • Become familiar with our production system architecture.
  • Become familiar with the tools that we use that allow us to operate a 24/7/365 cloud hospital pharmacy application suite.
  • Be involved in our software release and deployment process for our application and infrastructure.
  • Receive hands on training on the product and other applications used by the company.
  • Be introduced to company culture, processes and basic operations.

Within three months in this role, you will:

  • Understand the technology and processes we have implemented and be able to identify possible enhancements.
  • Contributing improvements to systems tasks and processes through scripting and automation.
  • Receive regular exposure to product related trainings and customer driven inquiries in order to learn about the contextual use of the product.
  • Be integrated into the company culture, happenings and updates.

Within six months in this role, you will:

  • Operate more autonomously and interface with internal teams to resolve system and customer issues.
  • Implement enhancements to the system architecture and team processes.
  • Contribute value to the company’s culture and mission.
