JOB DESCRIPTION
Vertafore is looking for a Change and Release Manager to join our SaaS Operations organization. The role will primarily focus on successful and smooth technology changes and SaaS products release management. The person will lead the change and release process, related policy and procedures documentation, metrics, reports, and the CAB (Change Advisory Board) function to drive towards 99.9% change and release success
Core Requirements and Responsibilities:
Essential job functions included but are not limited to the following:
Establish and continuously enhance the Change and Release Management policy, its procedures, processes, metrics, and standards
Lead the CAB and drive the change and product release pipeline for optimal use of the change window and a smooth, conflict-free, high quality change execution with no disruption or degradation of service during the lifecycle of the change
Act as primary liaison between product development, Quality Assurance, Technology Operations, DevOps, Customer Support and Product Management groups for change and release management priorities, issues resolution and approval process
Conduct weekly CAB and E-CAB meetings, facilitate change and release planning, approve/reject changes in consultation with stakeholders
Publish the annual change and freeze windows. Regularly report change and release related metrics, approved changes and releases, their progress during/post execution
Ensure all change management policy documents are current and all teams properly document and maintain the software configuration-control baselines and modification in an auditable manner, within the defined toolset and repositories
Collaborate with IRM (Information Risk Management), Compliance and Audit Manager, and senior management to monitor and report the continuous change management compliance status, the gaps or deviations if any.
Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual audits and distribute the reports to leadership. Analyze the data for policy/procedure/operational efficiencies and participate in audits initiated by IRM, customers or regulatory third-party auditors.
Educate teams and leaders on change management controls, its best practices, documentation needs and more
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong understanding of ITIL framework and its best practices.
Well versed with customer facing SaaS software building blocks (.Net, java, databases, web servers, IT Infrastructure, AWS, security), and related configuration, change and release management in an SaaS environment
Experience working in an DevOps, SDLC, Agile, CD/CI pipelines environment is a MUST
Comfortable interacting with executives and senior leaders to present program updates, audit reports and findings
Good data analysis and graphical data representation skills required to prepare insightful reports and change conflict resolution
Microsoft skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Windows is required
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other relevant fields
8+ years of experience in Change and Release Management in an information technology, banking, financial or insure-tech industry
Related certifications (ITIL Expert, CCMP, CMS, CPCM, or similar) preferred
Additional Requirements and Details:
- Travel required up to 10% of the time.
- Ability to work remotely with a stable internet connection on an as-needed basis
- Located and working from an office location (when required)*
- Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds.
- Frequent repetitive hand and arm movements required to operate a computer.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision (working on a computer, etc.).
- Frequent sitting and/or standing.
