Checkr is looking for an experienced Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to join the Adjudication team. This team’s charter is to enable our customers to make more efficient, accurate, and fair decisions in the hiring process while maintaining compliance and allowing for configurability of decisioning workflows. Additionally, this team has a unique ability to be able to have a significant impact on the Checkr mission of fair chance hiring. The flagship product of the Adjudication team is Assess, which was awarded Fast Company’s Winner in the AI and Data category as part of their 2021 World Changing Ideas Awards. In this role, you will organize and lead your teammates to build new products as well as support feature enhancements to existing products. 

Checkr is a collection of small services built on Ruby, Golang, and Javascript, with SQL and NoSQL databases, asynchronous tasks using messaging queues and Kafka data streams. As we build our architecture, we welcome new languages and technologies to our stack. Checkr was founded by engineers for engineers; we want to create the best environment for developers to build, learn and love their work.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the product development of features from design, implementation, to release
  • Partner with product, design and other stakeholders in designing new features
  • Drive architectectural changes and implement new features
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve our products
  • Deliver performant, reliable, scalable, and secure code
  • Monitor, investigate, triage, and resolve production issues as they arise for services owned by the team

What you bring:

  • 5+ years of software development experience
  • Ability to lead and collaborate with teammates and other stakeholders to deliver features end-to-end
  • Proficient in Backend development and MVC frameworks such as Rails or Django
  • Familiar with JavaScript (preferable React) and knowledge of front end best practices
  • Solid understanding of Computer Science fundamentals such as relational databases, data structure and algorithms, Object Relational Mapping, REST APIs, microservices, etc.
  • A strong sense of ownership
  • An eagerness to learn, collaborate, improve, and innovate

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with Colorado law, the base salary for this role if filled within Colorado is $129,200-$152,000.
