Checkr is looking for an experienced Senior Engineering Manager to lead our Post-Hire Awareness group. This group consists of two teams, Continuous Safety and Clearinghouse.

The charter of this group is centered around enabling an ongoing relationship between employers and employees. You will work on building a differentiated post-hire experience that enables companies maintain on-going trust and safety.

Behind the scenes, we embrace micro-services as the best way to isolate everything and select the right tool for the job. We also love asynchronous architectures and building RESTful APIs. We are focused and excited by data processing at scale. Checkr was founded by engineers for engineers; we want to create the best environment for developers to build, learn and love their work.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the teams to design, implement and scale our microservice architecture
  • Develop a technical vision and strategy for the group
  • Represent the teams in planning and product meetings
  • Collaborate with product to ship new, impactful products and features
  • Partner with product in driving the technical and product roadmap for measurable business outcomes
  • Build a deep understanding and empathy for Checkr’s customers
  • Build strong partnerships with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Manage the performance and career growth of individuals on the team
  • Manage the relationship with our contractor team
  • Hire to scale the teams by 2.5x this year

What you bring:

  • 3+ years as an engineering manager
  • 5+ years as engineer
  • Experience managing multiple teams
  • Experience working with global contractors and distributed teams
  • Deep understanding of software engineering principles, including service architecture, system design, and front-end design
  • Able to develop inclusive teams to foster growth and diversity
  • Strong skills in critical thinking, decision making, problem-solving, and attention to detail
  • Experience bringing new products to market from conception to launch 
  • Experience working on products at scale, and understanding the data, legal, technical nuances of supporting complex products

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors.  In accordance with Colorado law, the base salary for this role if filled within Colorado is $198,688-$233,750.
