As a Build Engineer you will be responsible for partnering with engineering teams in building, maintaining, and improving our build eco-system. This is a critical role that ensures timeliness of software delivery, as well as helping optimize our release infrastructure.
What You Are Accountable For
- Work collaboratively with each engineering and operations team to refine and implement build pipelines
- Maintain package license security and security scanning integrations.
- Relentless focus on automating where possible; making builds and deployments more efficient.
- Help gather and analyze system metrics to identify and address problematic systems/VMs.
- Strong passion for learning our products and markets through in-house and external training
- Act as a subject matter expert to enable others.
- Take ownership, be creative, and think outside the box to invent and build solutions to real-world problems.
- Understand how the entire system works end-to-end and contribute to improving it.
- Promote, maintain and enhance our cultural values of humility, passion, inclusion and leadership.
What We Require
- 3+ years of professional build or release engineering experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
- 3+ years hands-on experience with Linux, Unix, etc.
- 3+ years hands-on experience with Atlassian products (Bitbucket, JIRA)
- 3+ years hands-on experience with Jenkins, Maven, etc.
- 3+ years hands-on experience with an object-oriented language (Go, Python, Rust, Java, C++, Ruby, etc...).
- Working knowledge of Puppet, Salt, Kubernetes, Docker, etc.
- An excellent understanding of the software development life cycle, including Agile practices.
- Ability to manage multiple/concurrent releases in development.
- Self-starter with the ability to learn new technologies.
- Ability to keep pace and absorb rapidly evolving technical solutions being developed and deployed in both domestic and international locations.
- Excellent time management, task planning and prioritization skills.
- Independent worker who can balance planned work with ad-hoc requests from peers.
The salary range for this role for Denver, Colorado only is $90,000-150,000. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
