Backend/Integration Specialist at ConnectedFi (Greater Boulder Area, CO)
Connected Fi is a Boulder based FinTech start-up founded by a entrepreneurial team with a significant track record of building and exiting businesses. Founders built and successfully sold two start ups with no external funding to blue chip acquirers. We, at Connected Fi, have built cloud based software for equipment finance brokers to put together deals and send them to banks.
We beta-launched in the UK 15 months ago and organically grew to process volumes amounting to 5% ($1BB) of the entire UK intermediated equipment finance industry ($20BB). We have 240 brokers using our software to send deals to 150 funders (banks, leasing companies etc).
We recently started testing out demand for our concept in the US market; already signed up 8 brokerages amounting to processing volume worth 2% ($240MM) of the entire US intermediated equipment finance industry($12BB) with no US product or marketing. We are now building out the US product.
Our revenue model is small % of the $ amount flowing through the system.
Equipment Finance (in the UK and US) is a Trillion dollar industry but is still archaic from tech adoption standpoint. Software vendors that enable origination, execution and processing of equipment finance deals are small, old and fragmented. Trading and syndication of lease books is either primitive or non-existent. We are building the future of the equipment finance industry.
Our software is built on Ruby, Rails, React and Postgres. Plus, we now have good amount of data in the UK and are looking at using ML (TensorFlow) to develop value-added products for brokers, funders and borrowers.
We are looking for a strong back end (Ruby/Rails) engineer with ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The engineer will be responsible for working with product managers to deliver a robust, scalable and flexible platform as well as a series of third party integration projects. Depending on performance, there will be plenty of opportunity to take on management and leadership roles.
