Summary
Xyleme is looking for AWS Cloud Architect to help design and develop AWS cloud infrastructure at Xyleme. This role includes aspects of infrastructure design and implementation to improve and scale Xyleme's SaaS content management platform. You will work closely with all engineering teams to build, configure, manage and automate our AWS infrastructure. To be successful in this role, you will need to have AWS certifications and/or a strong academic record with several years of experience in system administration, with exposure to estimating, design, development, and testing of cloud infrastructure. We understand you may not be an expert at everything, so you should be interested and willing to quickly learn new skills and be dedicated to continuous improvement of processes and services and be comfortable / willing to attend meetings and visit our office to participate in planning discussions.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:

  • Designing cloud infrastructure that is secure, scalable, and highly available on AWS
  • Working collaboratively with software engineering to define infrastructure and deployment requirements
  • Provisioning, configuring and maintaining AWS cloud infrastructure defined as code
  • Ensuring security to meet compliance requirements
  • Troubleshooting problems across a wide array of services and functional areas
  • Building and maintaining operational tools for deployment, monitoring, and analysis of AWS infrastructure and systems
  • Performing infrastructure cost analysis and optimization


Minimum Requirements
You must possess the following qualifications to be considered for this position.

  • Passion for educating, training, designing, and building cloud solutions
  • Strong understanding of medium/large scale distributed computing solutions
  • Ability to participate and contribute in deep cloud architecture discussions
  • At least 5 years of experience designing, building and maintaining AWS infrastructure (CloudFormation, Security Groups, IAM, ECS, CloudFront, S3, API Gateway, Lambda, RDS, and more)

Competency in the following areas will help you excel in this position.

  • AWS Certification
  • Solid foundation of networking and Linux administration
  • Experience with Docker for deploying applications on AWS
  • Strong understanding of how to secure AWS environments and meet compliance requirements

  • Ability to estimate work and track time on tasks
  • Ability and desire to focus on deadlines and complete work efficiently

Total compensation for this role is market competitive, in the range of $130,000-$170,000 annually, DOE.
