Position Summary:

The Automation Engineer develops automated tests that systematically test common user flows against APIs.  They interpret requirements to determine which tests help verification and validation. 

Essential Responsibilities (includes, but is not limited to):

  • Develop, with little guidance, back-end API automated tests and minimal UI to execute reliably and efficiently
  • Understand the software internals, debug issues, and manage data for test automation 
  • Work with product and other development teams to understand how new features should be tested, prioritize the test execution and report on test progress and results in an effective manner
  • Assist with expanding and maintaining our existing test automation framework and test coverage 
  • Analyze complex software systems and collaborate with others to improve the overall design, testability, and quality in a microservice architecture
  • Participate in test plan and architectural discussions 

Ideal Skills, Experience, and Competencies:

  • At least two (2) to four (4) years of Automation Experience
  • Ability to take on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm
  • Ability to build partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives
  • Ability to develop and deliver multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences
  • Ability to adapt approach and demeanor in real time to match the shifting demands of different situations
  • Ability to anticipate and adopt innovations in business-building digital and technology applications
  • Experience developing in JAVA/Groovy with a strong foundation in OOP, Domain/Service/Test layers
  • Experience using Git, Code Reviews
  • Experience using test automation tools like Selenium, Maven, Rest-Assured, Postman and TestNG
  • Relevant work experience in software development and/or test automation
  • Experience with Continuous Integration systems (e.g., Jenkins)
  • Experience with AWS preferred
  • Ability to read and understand swagger documentation for API Web Service testing
  • Strong knowledge of QA methodology and testing tools (Jira, Test rail)
  • Knowledge of POM (Page Object Model)

Required Education & Certifications:

  • A./B.S. in related field or equivalent work experience

Compensation:

  • Qualified candidates can expect a salary beginning at $90,000 or more depending on experience

*Note: Compensation is benchmarked on local Denver Metro area market rates. Qualified candidates in other locations can expect a salary package that may be adjusted based off applicable cost of wages in their respective location.
