Job Title: Security Engineer
Location: Denver, CO or Mountain View, CA
Job Summary
The Application Security Engineer develops, maintains, and supports computers, operating systems, databases, and network configuration, and installation scripts for ViewRay’s MRIdian Linac products. Responsibilities include the identification of appropriate computing hardware to host MRIdian Linac software, networking hardware for internal connections and integration of system with client networks. Keep up with the latest Cybersecurity requirements and incorporate them into ViewRay’s product line. Proactively identify gaps and make recommendations to address them using industry’s best practices.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain and support computers, operating systems, databases, and network configuration for ViewRay’s MRIdian and MRIdian Linac products
  • Identification and configuration of the appropriate computing hardware and operating systems to host MRIdian Linac software
  • Development of networking hardware for internal connections and integration of the system with client networks
  • Development of data storage and archival infrastructure for the product
  • Keep up with the latest Cybersecurity requirements and implement solution to incorporate them into ViewRay’s product line
  • Develop and maintain build scripts and build servers for product and advanced development.
  • Develop and maintain installation scripts and distribution media for product and infrastructure software
  • Develop and maintain documentation following best medical device industry practices for computers, operating systems, network, and storage and other IT infrastructure for the MRIdian and MRidian Linac products
  • Proactively identify gaps and make recommendations to address them using industry’s best practices
  • Support IT requirements for integration of ViewRay’s products with client networks at customer sites
  • Maintain strong working relationships and collaboration with marketing, science, engineering, and IT groups
  • Manage and negotiate contracts with IT vendors for the product-related IT services
  • Participate in all hardware and software evaluations and maintain vendor contracts
  • Ensure budgets and schedules are met
Education, Experience, Skills
  • BA/BS in computer science, information systems or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in hands-on IT role, preferably to support products in the medical device industry
  • Hands-on experience in Powershell, Windows Batch Scripts, and SQL
  • Proven ability to create and maintain effective documentation, including policies, processes and procedures
  • Proven communication and troubleshooting skills
  • Medical device background, preferred, but not required
  • Strong social skills, specifically a demonstrated ability to effectively guide and influence within a dynamic matrix environment
  • Ability to work well under pressure and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong technical analytical skills and understanding of IT security
  • Thrives in fast paced global environment

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, at a variety of technical levels
  • Ability to work effectively as part of the diverse team including physicists, scientists, and engineers in a fast-paced environment and with multiple projects
