POSITION SUMMARY:
The Application Scientist I/II - RUO Assay Development position is responsible for the critical evaluation of Archer custom and catalog assays utilizing Archer's AMP technology throughout the product lifecycle. This role will drive customer-facing collateral generation, pressure test assays prior to release, establish final product specifications, and provide support for early adopters to ensure the success of our assays in the field. As familiarity with AMP­based NGS increases, novel approaches to experimental design, data presentation, and assay development for new NGS products will be expected. They will work closely with the Marketing, Technical Product Management, and RUO Support Teams on data presentation and document drafting, revising, and approval. This position is a key part of the greater RUO Assay Development team, requiring strong data analysis, wet lab, and communication skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Job performance will involve a variety of activities including:

  • Driving projects forward to ensure internal and external deadlines are met
  • Interpreting scientific results and providing recommendations for moving forward
  • Generating ideas to improve existing technology and drive future technology
  • Maintaining detailed, accurate, and accessible records of experimental design and results
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements
  • Communicating findings to a non-technical audience
  • Working with other Assay Development team members on document creation/revision
  • Additional duties as assigned
  • Review, understanding, and compliance with ArcherDX HIPAA Security policies and procedures.
  • Safeguarding the privacy and security of protected health information and European Union personal data.
  • Processing and handling of European Union personal data only as directed by ArcherDX for purposes of personalized molecular pathology.

 
EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of laboratory experience
  • 2+ years in an industry setting (preferred)
  • Familiarity with NGS (preferred)

EDUCATION:

  • MS/PhD in biology, molecular biology, biochemistry or related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
