The Opportunity

DAT is looking for an Android Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our Mobile Engineering team.  The Mobile Engineering team is responsible for delivering customer solutions on Android and iOS platforms that are maintainable, scalable, and of the highest quality. We use the Agile development process, and value employees who foster collaboration between team members.

This can be a fully remote, work from home opportunity.  It is open to applicants who are full time residents of the following states:  AK, AL, AR, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, FL, GA, HI, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA, ME, MI, MN, MT, MO, NC, ND, NE, NH, NJ, NM, NY, OK, OR, PA, RI, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WA, WI, WV.  **We are unable to hire in the following states: DE, IA, MD, MS** 

This position can also work in-office if preferred. We currently have a hybrid model in place, in office 2-3x/week. This team is based in our Beaverton, Oregon office.


Candidate profile

A Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) at DAT is responsible for automating tests of native Android applications and maintaining the automation framework.  Our SDETs are expected to be passionate about coding, and understand fundamental software testing principles which will enable them to collaborate with the team and automate tests in the most efficient way possible.  

What You’ll Do

  • Automate end-to-end, UI, integration, and functional tests
  • Collaborate with the team to prioritize which tests are automated
  • Follow established team programming guidelines, patterns, and standards
  • Review functional requirements and analyze their impact on software design
  • Document automation tools and practices
  • Continually improve the automation framework so that it aligns with team CI/CD goals

The Skills and Experience You’ll Bring

  • Native Android Automation Experience: 2 years
  • 2 years experience with Android Espresso
  • Demonstrated competency with mobile/web technologies like Java, data structures, shell scripting, object-oriented development, and test tools/framework CI/CD pipeline experience
  • Experience writing tests in TDD format such as Gherkin
  • Experience with networking/request tools such as Charles Proxy, Postman, etc.
  • Experience with Kotlin or Java
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Bonus Skills

  • TestRail experience
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, Bash, etc.
  • Experience with mocking and dependency injection
  • Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and Docker
  • Experience with Google Cloud, Firebase TestLab, or other cloud-based device farms
  • Comfortable with the Linux environment
  • Experience with JUnit

 

(Colorado only) In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the minimum salary for this role is $100,000.00 + benefits. The maximum compensation for this role can vary significantly depending on your job-related skills and experience.
