EDI Manager
Department: CX Applications (Digital Operations) / IDEX IT
Reports To: Director of CX Applications (Digital Operations)
Location: Fully Remote <10% Travel to Business Units or Headquarters
Position Summary
The EDI Manager is a hands-on technical expert and program owner responsible for leading, executing, and continuously improving the organization’s Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) ecosystem. This includes direct configuration, mapping, troubleshooting, and trading partner onboarding, as well as managing the technical relationship with SPS Commerce, the organization’s EDI VAN provider. The role also includes full program management responsibilities which include defining the EDI roadmap, maintaining governance, enabling internal teams, supporting outsourced technology delivery, overseeing a contractor for daily technical support, integrating EDI workflows with Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) and ETL processes, managing projects in ServiceNow, and working directly with business units and EDI customers to ensure alignment, responsiveness, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- EDI Program Management
- Own and manage the full EDI program lifecycle—from strategy and planning to execution and continuous improvement
- Define and maintain EDI governance, standards, and documentation across business units
- Develop and execute the EDI roadmap aligned with enterprise digital and operational goals
- Track program KPIs, partner performance, and internal adoption metrics
- Oversight of Technical Contractor
- Oversee and coordinate with a contractor responsible for daily EDI technical support, issue resolution, and partner maintenance
- Review contractor deliverables, ensure quality and timeliness, and escalate issues as needed
- Full Ownership of EDI Operations
- Maintain accountability for all EDI transactions, mappings, and trading partner integrations
- Monitor and resolve escalated EDI errors and transmission issues
- Create and maintain a comprehensive catalog of EDI transactions, including document types, partner-specific variations, and business process mappings
- Provide after-hours support as needed to resolve urgent EDI issues or ensure continuity of business operations
- Technology Outsourcing & SPS Commerce Management
- Partner with SPS Commerce to outsource EDI technology delivery, including platform configuration, trading partner onboarding, and support services
- Serve as the primary technical liaison to SPS Commerce—manage connectivity, escalations, and service-level expectations
- ETL & Oracle ODI Integration
- Collaborate with data and integration teams to align EDI workflows with Oracle Data Integrator (ODI)pipelines and enterprise ETL processes
- Ensure accurate and timely data transformation between EDI systems and downstream platforms
- Business Unit & Customer Engagement
- Work directly with internal business units to understand EDI requirements, pain points, and improvement opportunities
- Serve as the primary EDI contact for external customers—facilitating onboarding, troubleshooting, and ongoing support
- Translate business needs into technical specifications and ensure timely, high-quality delivery
- eCommerce Team Support
- Collaborate with the eCommerce team to align EDI workflows with digital storefronts, order management, and fulfillment processes

- Partner Enablement & Onboarding
- Lead onboarding of new trading partners from start to finish: requirements gathering, mapping, testing, and go-live

- Customer Service Training & Support
- Train customer service teams on EDI workflows, document types, and escalation protocols
- Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting guidance for customer-facing EDI issues
- Continuous Improvement & Documentation
- Identify and implement process improvements to reduce errors and increase automation
- Maintain detailed logs, SOPs, and internal knowledge base—including the EDI transaction catalog, customer service training guides, and eCommerce support documentation
- ServiceNow Project Management
- Manage all EDI-related projects within ServiceNow, including intake, prioritization, task tracking, and reporting
- Ensure alignment with IT PMO governance, timelines, and resource planning
Qualifications
- 5+ years of direct, hands-on EDI experience—mapping, troubleshooting, and partner onboarding
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, or related field
- Proven experience managing an EDI program, including roadmap development, governance, and stakeholder engagement
- Experience working with SPS Commerce or similar VAN, including outsourced technology delivery and support coordination
- Experience overseeing contractors or third-party technical resources
- Strong understanding of EDI standards, protocols, and data formats
- Ability to work independently and own the full lifecycle of EDI operations, including after-hours support as needed
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience working directly with business units and external customers

- Strong communicator who can explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Experience training and supporting customer service or business operations teams

Total Rewards
The compensation range for this position is $110,000.00 - $165,000.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.Benefits Package
