We are currently looking to hire a Director of Sales to drive revenue and profitability for the organization. This leader will be someone who has proven track record of building and scaling sales organizations while managing a team that will create, meet and support the sales goals of Velocity Global. This is a strategic, high impact role that offers the right individual the opportunity to join a high growth company that is creating an entirely new category. The Director of Sales will be responsible for crafting the strategic direction of the sales organization and driving the execution of all sales and business development activities. This person will be critical to the strategic growth of Velocity Global and will manage an experienced sales organization which already includes inside sales, outside sales and strategic partnerships. 

At its core, this position is focused on sales and strategy. This individual will report to the CEO.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the sales strategy and revenue delivery for Velocity Global’s clients and prospects worldwide
  • Carry a team quota, attain and overachieve on revenue targets, deliver consistent revenue and commitments based on pipeline development
  • Provide unique contributions and strategic direction for the development of Velocity Global’s business at the executive level, while simultaneously building, managing and growing the sales pipeline
  • Structure the organization of the sales team to maximize the energy and efforts of each individual contributor
  • Develop an individual coaching plan for each direct report
  • Drive revenue and profitability through the inside and outside sales team as well as strategic partnerships
  • Create and execute a global sales strategy utilizing regionally-based resources and teams
  • Use monthly, quarterly and annual forecasting and pipeline management to manage sales growth
  • Identify key metrics to measure corporate growth and success of sales team
  • Direct involvement in high profile and major sales engagements with the sales team, assist in sharing advice, leveraging in-house expertise and closing
  • Develop, maintain, and execute Velocity Global’s sales strategy
  • Continue to build and manage a world class sales team
  • Set and manage sales budgets, calculate ROI and increase conversion rates
  • Establishing effective business development metrics, sales projections, pricing strategies and consistent sales methodology
  • Evaluating the competitive landscape and diagnosing customer needs in order to develop new and innovative service lines
  • Monitor customer, market and competitor activity and provide feedback to company leadership team and other company functions
  • Key member of the leadership team, contributing to strategic planning, and making company-guiding decisions
  • Ability to communicate, present and influence all levels of the organization, including executive and c-level

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years experience in selling complex solutions
  • 10+ years of experience building and scaling high impact sales organizations
  • Experience building and scaling a high performing global sales organization
  • Experience in developing a global sales strategy
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience preferred
  • Analytically minded, reporting guru and numbers focused
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation and follow-through skills
  • Persistent, disciplined and motivated attitude
  • Proven track record of overachievement against significant revenue targets
  • High impact and dynamic individual with a proven record of achieving results individually and through others
  • Experience as a strategic thinker and leader with a proven ability to execute sales plans
  • Excellent communication skills with the capability of articulating the company’s ongoing strategic vision
  • Interest in international business and contributing at a consistently high level
  • Ability to assimilate information quickly. We do business across 185+ countries so there is a lot to learn!

  • Anticipated estimated travel of 50%
