As a DevOps Engineer II, you'll be an integral part of our development team, operating in an environment that fosters experimentation, innovation, and continuous learning. We champion proof-of-concept work and prioritize creating safe sandboxed environments for exploration. Your role will be pivotal in constructing functional systems that elevate educational standards globally.

Job Responsibilities
  • Build and configure new development tools and infrastructure.
  • Understand stakeholder needs and communicate them effectively to developers.
  • Develop strategies to automate and enhance development and release processes.
  • Test and review code, analyzing results to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Ensure system security against cybersecurity threats.
  • Collaborate with software developers to create automated systems for deployment and monitoring.
  • Participate in project planning and contribute to project management decisions.
  • Deploy updates and fixes efficiently.
  • Develop tools to minimize errors and enhance the customer experience.
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues, conducting root cause analysis for production errors.
  • Automate visualization processes through script development.
  • Design and implement procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a relevant field.
  • 1-3+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar software engineering role.
  • Proficiency in administering AWS and providing technical guidance on technology selection.
  • Strong knowledge of git and git workflows.
  • Familiarity with Ruby, PHP, or Python.
  • Working understanding of databases and SQL.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an attention to detail, capable of analyzing and troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey ideas clearly and collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, contributing actively to discussions and sharing knowledge.
  • Willingness to learn and grow through active feedback and mentorship, with a proactive approach to improving technical skills and understanding of software development practices.
  • Eagerness to learn new technologies and methodologies, with a passion for software development.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Commitment to delivering quality code and solutions that meet technical specifications and requirements.
  • Enthusiasm for working in a dynamic and collaborative environment, contributing to the success of projects and the team.
U.S. Pay Range
$80,000$110,000 USD

Please note that the compensation information is a good faith estimate, and is provided pursuant to Equal Pay Laws. SchoolStatus intends to offer the selected candidate base pay dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors, such as experience. Our team will provide more information about the total compensation package for this position during the interview process.
