About the Role:
Xyleme utilizes a dynamic content publishing system to publish content stored in our Component Content Management System (JSON, XML) into dynamic web sites and web applications. These web outputs are built using templatized HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
We are seeking someone skilled at web design, development, and maintenance of responsive web outputs who can work with customers, developers, and the Product Management team to create beautiful, functional, and accessible outputs.
In this role, you will:

  • Consult with customers to uncover web output requirements
  • Create responsive web output designs that delight customers, meet accessibility requirements, and work within Xyleme's dynamic publishing framework
  • Translate web designs into meaningful technical requirements for developers
  • Work with the Product Management team to identify ways to improve publishing systems
  • Work with the Product Management team to formulate and execute on the strategic vision for web outputs
  • Help create, maintain, and advocate for a library of web output templates
  • Support customers in tailoring web outputs to their specific needs
  • Support Xyleme development teams with web output template development
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of web output testing functionality and test plans
  • Mentor junior developers and designers in training sessions on web output functionality, design, and maintenance


Must Haves:

  • Excellent design consulting and communication skills
  • Excellent cross-disciplinary communication (developers, designers, testers, managers)
  • Ability to negotiate trade-offs with customers and stakeholders to meet specialized requirements
  • Ability to translate designs into meaningful technical requirements (Technical Specs, Zeplin projects, etc.)
  • In-depth knowledge of web design and maintenance
  • Strong client-side coding skills and experience (HTML/CSS/JavaScript)
  • Experience with using client-side coding frameworks and libraries (jQuery, Sass, React, Angular, etc.)
  • Familiarity with application version control systems (Git, SVN, etc.)
  • Familiarity with application build tools (NPM, Grunt, etc.)
  • A portfolio of previous work will be required.

Total compensation for this role is market competitive, including a base compensation in the range of $65,000-$75,000 (DOE)
