What this role is:
Your primary focus for this role will be on conducting research that provides rich and actionable user insights our product teams need at every stage of the product development lifecycle. You’ll embed with a team of designers, Product Managers, and other cross-functional partners. You’ll work collaboratively with these folks (who are also doing research) to enhance our understanding of users and user behavior and to improve our product decision-making.
What you’ll be doing:
- Planning and executing research projects from start to finish, which may include recruiting, study prepping, analyzing data, synthesizing research, and communicating findings to stakeholders
- Collaborating and partnering with other researchers, product designers, and product managers to conduct research
- Conducting practical and impactful research across the product lifecycle, from generative to evaluative and everywhere in between
- Bringing insights about users using a variety of methods - surveys, interviews, log analysis, usability studies, diary studies, ethnographic observation, or a new method not currently in our toolkit
- Sharing findings with designers, engineers, product managers, and others, leading to a more informed and more empathetic product team
- Participating in outreach to the company by teaching, telling stories, and soliciting perspective
- Contributing to and curating insights from the research repository
More specifically, we’re looking for someone with:
- Masters Or PhD in Human-Computer Interaction, Sociology, Psychology, Information Science, Computer Science (or similar), or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of related experience conducting research at customer-focused, fast-paced tech companies delivering customer value quickly to the market
- Expertise with a variety of qualitative and quantitative research methods
- A deep understanding of research methodologies and the ability to select the best method, given project and research goals
- Experience managing projects involving cross functional teams
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience analyzing and summarizing data for a variety of audiences
- Collaborative approach
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, fast-changing environment
Bonus points:
- Previous experiences with IT-related technologies
- Experience with UX research in B2B & regulated industries
- Experience implementing a research repository
- Experience enabling non-UX Researchers to conduct meaningful research
- Experience with video editing
- Experience with unmoderated testing platforms
- Quantitative data analysis chops
In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the approximate annual compensation range for this role is $110,000-$131,000, including base salary and any related bonuses or commissions. JumpCloud provides comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, short and long term disability, life insurance and a 401k savings plan. We have an unlimited vacation policy.
Where you’ll be working
All our roles are remote in the U.S. unless otherwise specified. Our Headquarters is in the Denver/Boulder, CO area. Once we reopen our offices you will have the opportunity to remain fully remote (in the U.S.), work from one of our office locations (CO only currently) or flex your time.
