Senior UX Manager
Summary
Senior User Experience Managers are leaders that drive the creation of world class user experiences, build healthy teams, align UX to business outcomes, and improve design operations for high impact results. You proactively identify and drive opportunities to improve UX processes, people, and outcomes across large portions of the platform and team. You’re able to easily build relationships and trust across the organization to align on seamless and unified experiences.
What You'll Do
- Provide leadership, direction, and mentorship for a team of UX Designers, driving high-quality UX design throughout Workiva's ecosystem, aligning with customer and business needs.
- Build a strong sustainable organization with high levels of employee engagement by attracting and developing superior talent, providing mentorship and coaching to enhance overall skills and performance, critiquing work, and supporting career growth.
- Proactively identifies and drives cross-team strategies that operationalizes best practices and improve team health, processes, and standards.
- Champions UX best practices across teams, raising visibility of work, and ensuring partnership with key stakeholders.
- Models Workiva’s values and leadership principles, developing an atmosphere of respect, mutual support, flexibility, continuous learning, good humor, and commitment to business goals and customer needs to fulfill the company vision.
What You'll Need
Education
- Undergraduate Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field.
- Related fields include Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience Design, Software Engineering, Psychology, and Technical Communication
Skills
- Superior design skills with proven skills in interaction and product design
- Solid understanding of user experience principles and research methodologies
- Strong management and leadership skills
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple processes, programs, procedures and deadlines simultaneously
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, communication, and change management skills
- Ability to effectively recruit team members
- 7+ years of experience delivering high quality user experiences
- 3+ years experience in building and coaching teams for high impact results
- Demonstrated exceptional proficiency leading user experience in lean, agile software development environments.
- Up to 10% to meet with geographically dispersed team members depending on proximity to Workiva offices
- Reliable internet access for any period of time working remotely, not in a Workiva office.
How You'll Be Rewarded
- Base Pay Range in Colorado: $167,000 - $203,000
- A discretionary bonus typically paid annually
- Restricted Stock Units granted at time of hire
- 401(k) match
The base pay range represents the low and high end of the hiring range for this job. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to relevant skills, experience, and capabilities.
