Job DescriptionWe are looking for a UX Engineer with proven experience in User Experience and a portfolio of work to back up previous accomplishments. You will be utilizing design tools including Sketch, Prototyping Tools, such as InVision, and version control (Abstract) in your day-to-day work. In this role, you will need to be able to translate complex, technical ideas into simply understood and actionable solutions. Other aspects that will set you up for success in this role are: being internally motivated, being open to feedback, working as a team to create the best outcomes possible, and willingness to learn new things as well as bring new ideas to the table, so others can learn from you as well.
Responsibilities
- Create libraries, components, design systems, wireframes, and prototypes that follow or build upon our internal standards
- Ability to work with diverse teams and understand the importance of seamless crossover
- Clearly understand business objectives and ensure that the team is striving to improve
- Work with all of Engineering to ensure designs meet client needs and are technically able to be implemented
- Defend design decisions with stakeholders when it benefits the users and know when to take advice and go another direction if another idea is better
- Be an advocate for the importance of UX in the organization
- Conduct user-centered research, usability testing, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and use the results to guide design decisions
- Have personal ownership and accountability when completing work tasks
Skills And Qualifications
- Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills
- In depth knowledge of different design and prototyping tools including Sketch and InVision
- Experience creating reusable and scalable components/symbols
- Ability to clearly document work, reasoning behind design decisions, and keep all files clean so they may be shared and easily modified by others
- Experience with creating interactive prototypes
- Ability to create product designs that are easy to inspect and understand by the Engineers implementing the designs, QA team members testing the final product, and Support members ensuring any issues are handled properly, timely, and accurately
- Has familiarity with the philosophies of the agile/scrum process
- Has worked on responsive projects in the past
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience and/or knowledge about the Advertising Industry
- Experience working in Agile environments
- Past history of working in version control for design projects and/or code projects
- Working knowledge of HTML5, CSS, JavaScript/React
- Understanding of modern software development practices and methodologies
Education & Experience
- Education and/or experience in User Experience and Human Factors
- A degree is not required for this role if you have appropriate experience, knowledge, and a proven track record of being able to implement sound solutions in an appropriate time frame
