Role Overview: 

 

This role requires a strong fundamental understanding of composite aircraft structures, composite materials and processes, and structural hand analysis. 


Responsibilities:

 

The engineer will be responsible for conceptual layouts as well as preliminary and detailed design and analysis of primary and secondary aircraft structures. They will design and conduct structural tests and support manufacturing throughout fabrication and assembly of the aircraft.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 

5 + years of experience designing and analyzing aerospace structures

Proficiency with hand and finite element analysis of aerospace structures

Familiarity with composite materials and processes, tooling, layup and assembly techniques

Demonstrated proficiency with Solidworks

Experience developing test plans and conducting component and assembly level structural tests

Excellent communication skills, ability to interface effectively with different engineering groups internally as well as existing and potential suppliers An undergraduate degree in Electrical, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering is required 


Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 

Hands on composite fabrication experience

Prototype aircraft program experience

Familiarity with FAR part 23 and part 25 requirements

Materials testing and certification experience

Aircraft structure certification experience

A master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred

Pilot's license and/or Aircraft Mechanic (A&P) license is a strong plus

 

Compensation:

 

This will pay $60-$100 per hour based on years of experience. This is a 9+ month contract position located in Centennial, Colorado.

To conform to U.S. Government aerospace technology export regulations (ITAR and EAR), applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
