Senior User Experience Researcher
This is a fully remote U.S. based role. You would need the right to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for this role.
Job Summary
As a Senior UX Researcher you'll help us simplify complexity by identifying opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement on behalf of the user. Your previous experience as a researcher in software development will enable you to jump right in and design studies that inform decisions for Workiva products.
Your experience makes you comfortable with ambiguity and excited by opportunities to discover solutions for users that meet their needs and exceed their expectations. You'll conduct both qualitative and quantitative research that covers the breadth of customer experiences - proactively using insights to address feature- and workflow-level challenges.
What You'll Do
Collaborates with User Experience Designers, Product Managers, and Software Engineers to discover and prioritize user experience opportunities with new and existing products
Conducts research throughout the product development process - from concept to release, leveraging methods such as usability testing, online experiments, interviews, surveys, observation, and other techniques to understand users
Appropriately applies right-sized, diverse research methods to garner valid, actionable insights
Organizes, analyzes and synthesizes qualitative and quantitative data to surface key insights and findings that translate into design direction
Delivers user-centered, evidence-based recommendations for a variety of projects across the platform, advocates for users in team discussions
Collaboratively crafts needed materials for research activities, such as research plans, moderator’s guides, surveys, and workshop templates that align methods and scope with needs and constraints
Crafts compelling stories with data, analysis, themes and recommendations for a variety of audiences
Balances research rigor with agility to deliver timely, useful results
Reviews research designs, offers consulting on user research best practices
Provides leadership for User Experience team in generating high-quality research studies and analytics
What You'll Need
Skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal, negotiation and collaboration skills
Highly skilled in a range of research methods
Strong data visualization skills
Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Proven ability to deliver consumable, actionable research results
Experience
4+ years experience in user experience research in a software company
Experience with complex workflow-based software or complex domain a plus
Proven experience turning research findings into actionable user centered design and product goals
Experience working in a Lean UX / Agile environment
Extensive experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods
Experience working with a geographically distributed team
Education
B.S. or M.S. in human-computer interaction, psychology or a related field preferred
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
Reliable internet access for any period of time working remotely, not in a Workiva office.
How You’ll Be Rewarded
Base Pay Range in Colorado: $123,000.00 - $158,000.00
Restricted Stock Units granted at time of hire
401(k) match
The base pay range represents the low and high end of the hiring range for this job. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to relevant skills, experience, and capabilities.
