The Product Design Role:

Product designers at CircleCI have a strong problem solving process and a demonstrated ability to explain that process. They are curious, ask questions, dig deep into problems and are excited to learn new things.

Our product designers are strong visual thinkers understanding the key elements of visual design including visual hierarchy, layout, typography, color etc and also have ability to communicate structure, relationships and flow through visual assets.

Our product designers understand the value of research and seek every opportunity to engage with customers and utilize design to solve real user problems.

Designing for Billing & Pricing:The billing and pricing product designer will be responsible for designing the end-to-end journey for billing, payments and usage. They should have a solid understanding of payment flows, subscription management, billing management, customer usage reporting and an interest in internal tools and integrations. 

Someone coming into this role should have experience working on teams with a large number of stakeholders and be able to balance and sort through a variety of input.  They should be able to understand the technical implications of the designs they produce and iterate based on both technical and user feedback.  They should have experience working on remote teams and be comfortable with changing priorities.  

A successful designer in this position will be a strong partner to the product and engineering teams.  They should have a keen eye for detail and enjoy designing for clarity in an area where accuracy is paramount for customer satisfaction.  They should have an interest in growth design and be able to use data to inform design decisions and evaluate outcomes. 

What you'll do:

  • Work cross-functionally with our product and engineering teams to represent design and give feedback in planning and product channels.
  • Create interactive design prototypes to share and validate designs both internally and externally
  • Use data analytics, user testing and research to inform and validate design decisions and focus on constant improvement 
  • Help plan and participate in user research studies to understand and validate product concepts

What we're looking for:

  • 3+ years of design experience with some focus on buyer journeys (previous SaaS, enterprise or Developer tools work a huge plus.)
  • Experience designing responsive experiences
  • Experience doing user research and running usability tests
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate data
  • A portfolio of work that shows a strong problem solving process, a clear understanding of visual design principles, and the ability to communicate design to a broad audience.
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JS (React)
  • Experience with Lean UX methodologies
