About this role

We’re looking for a full time lead product designer to join our team. This role will be responsible for designing mission critical parts of the product. You will be working with the product engineering team on a wide variety of projects including:

 

  • Working with product management and customer facing teams to understand customer problems and turning them into user interfaces.

  • Designing desktop and mobile user interfaces.

  • Providing production quality designs for the engineering team.

  • Ability to set and communicate a design vision across all pillars of the business.

You will be joining a team of experienced product developers. You will have a great deal of autonomy to identify problems that need solving, proposing solutions and implementing them. You will be a key contributor to the product roadmap.

Keeping track of insurance information is confusing and difficult… home, auto, life, health, pet, different insurance policies written with different insurance carriers ughhh. GloveBox integrates with carriers and agency management systems to provide policy holders with a unified insurance experience. We’re already supporting over 250 insurance agencies and over 300,000 policyholders in the US. GloveBox is the first solution that aggregates all carriers and policies into a single interface via direct connections into the carrier’s systems.

Our team has a deep understanding of the industry and are product experts. GloveBox is made up of a team of top 100 insurance agency owners and 25 year technical veterans. Together the group is pioneering the premier solution to this growing problem within the insurance industry.

Design Tooling

We like to keep our tooling simple and generally resist the urge to add lots of new tools unless they serve a critical purpose. We currently use the following design tools:

 

  • Figma

  • Font Awesome for icons

  • React for web UI development

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience with web and mobile UI design.

  • Enjoys problem solving, working with a team and can self manage.

  • Is interested in eventually overseeing a production team.

  • Excellent writing / communication skills. Documentation is an important part of the development cycle.

  • Strong time management skills. 

  • Fluent in English.

Compensation 

Compensation will be tied with experience. The salary range for this role is $90k - 110k.

Location

We’re located in Denver, CO but we’re open to remote working for the right candidate in the US.

How We Run Hiring

Your first 6 months with us

In your first 6 months, you will:

 

  • Be designing highly visible, customer facing parts of the GloveBox platform.

  • Working with the UI engineering team to enhance workflows between design and development.

  • Work with product management and leadership teams to understand complex user problems and propose solutions.

  • Work with analytic teams to review the effectiveness of product decisions and adjust UI designs accordingly.
