Based in Denver, Colorado, Inboxlab is an incubator that builds companies revolving around email. Inboxlab presently focuses on two primary verticals: travel and gaming. Our mission-based flagship travel brand, The Discoverer, reaches 2,000,000+ subscribers with its weekly editions. The Inbox Games network currently serves 25,000,000+ game plays per month across 9 brands.

About the role

As the Lead Designer for Inbox Games, you will be responsible for the brand creation, UI and UX design for game websites, web apps, emails and more. This role reports to the Director of Brand Strategy of Inboxlab and requires an individual with exceptional design acumen, general front-end development expertise, and keen insight into crafting a user-friendly experience.

What you’ll be doing

  • Create logo and brand identities for new game launches.

  • Conceptualize and design a clean, intuitive, and efficient web UI for games.

  • Create a standardized and optimized design framework across brands.

  • Work with developers to ensure design features are integrated as intended.

  • Manage any necessary brand creation outsourcing and feedback processes.

  • Design email templates optimized for content engagement and click-through.

  • Ensure that all web design is integrated and developed to be both cross-platform compatible and mobile responsive.

  • Develop ideas for gameplay and progression systems throughout the player life-cycle.

  • Create interactive design elements for email and web usage.

  • Work closely with the Director of Optimization to perform design tests across brands.

  • Work in a product development process that is primarily agile/scrum.
     

What you’ll need to bring

  • 5+ years of game design experience

  • 4+ years working in a product development team/environment, collaborating with Product Managers, Designers, Front-end Developers, and Back-end Developers.

  • 2+ years of front-end web development experience working on both websites and web apps using HTML, CSS, and Javascript.

  • Bachelor’s degree in design, animation or a related field.

  • Experience in User Interface, interaction design, and animation.

  • Extensive knowledge of graphics and animation programs - Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator & Premiere.

  • Experience working in email design is a plus.

  • Excellent knowledge and experience in crafting simple, efficient and elegant user experiences through UI design.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to work both individually and as a member of a team.

  • Ability to give and stick to a timeline/estimate for projects and tests.

  • Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time and help to determine priorities based on time, complexity, availability, etc.
