POSITION SUMMARY

Graphic designers create visual concepts, by using computer software, to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, or captivate consumers. They develop the overall layout and production design for advertisements, brochures, magazines, and corporate reports.

 

CORE JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Meet with marketing team to determine the scope of a project
  • Follow scheduled project timelines, implementation and define budget constraints
  • Think creatively and develop new design concepts, graphics and layouts for brand, product and market launches as well as seasonal campaigns
  • Prepare rough drafts and present seasonal and/or product launch campaign ideas
  • Amend final designs to Marketing team and gain full approval
  • Work as part of the marketing team
  • Create images that identify a product or convey a message
  • Develop graphics for product illustrations, logos, and websites
  • Select colors, images, text style, and layout based on set of guidelines to uphold brand standards and consistency
  • Review designs for errors before printing or publishing them
  • Create product packaging and label art in coordination with project managers
  • Stay apprised of all regulation requirements and changes with product packaging and label art for each brand and state with direction from project managers 
  • Create all new marketing materials and designs
  • Manage brand look and assets
  • Communicate paper weight and material needs with the print partner
  • Work in conjunction with marketing team to ensure materials are being sent to print and turned around in a timely manner
  • Create creative campaigns for social media

JOB TASKS

  • Daily:
  • Working with a wide range of media and using graphic design software
  • Thinking creatively and developing new design concepts, graphics and layouts
  • Design creative campaigns for all social media outlets  

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design or related field
  • 3+ years of experience utilizing graphic design skill set
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Experience working with web developers to help inform and implement design
  • Excellent time-management and multitasking skills
  • Outstanding communicator, both orally and written
  • Works well with a diverse range of people
  • Ability to coordinate and plan effectively
  • Possession of creative flair, versatility, conceptual/visual ability and originality
  • Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio
  • Ability to interact, communicate and present ideas
  • Up to date with industry leading software and technologies (In Design, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Photoshop etc.)
  • Highly proficient in all design aspects
  • Professionalism regarding time, costs and deadlines
