What You Will Be Doing

• Responsible for building against our front-end standards and methodologies across projects
• Responsible for billable client consulting that includes the design, production, modification and maintenance of our client’s web site and web application’s UI
• Work closely with UI/UX Designers at our agency partners on some projects, while responsible for creating the design for clients directly on others
• Work with back-end developers at BlueModus to bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and defining how the application looks as well as how it works
• Designing and developing new user-facing features
• Building reusable code and libraries for future use
• Ensuring the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
• Optimizing applications for maximum speed and scalability
• Assuring that all user input is validated before submitting to back-end team for development

Must Haves

• Genuine passion for interface design and interaction
• Experience designing and developing websites and microsites
• Portfolio showcasing ability to produce creative concepts, layout, typography and user interface design
• Knowledge of UX principles, web/mobile standards and ability to design for them
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite - Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
• Proficient with web markup, including HTML5, CSS3
• Understand server-side CSS pre-processing platforms (SASS)
• Experience with client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks (jQuery)
• Experience with image authoring tools (Photoshop, Sketch, Figma)
• Experience resolving cross-browser compatibility issues
• Ability to work collaboratively with coworkers and project stakeholders

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with prototyping tools like Axure, Balsamiq, OnmiGraffle, InVision, Sketch, UX Pin
• Experience with advanced JavaScript libraries and frameworks (AngularJS, KnockoutJS, BackboneJS, ReactJS, and DurandalJS)
• Experience working with client graphic standards and brand guidelines
• Understand asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX
• Experience with code versioning tools (Git, Mercurial or SVN)
• Experience with Bootstrap
• Experience working with content management platforms such as Kentico, Sitecore, Sitefinity
• Experience working at in an agency environment
• Experience with agile/lean development
• Understand SEO principles
• Bachelor’s degree in a visual design field or related
