Designer, Growth Marketing

Gusto is looking for a growth designer to join Brand Studio, a cross-disciplinary group of creatives including designers, writers, and developers. The mission of our team is to build a category-defining brand and have a meaningful impact on Gusto’s business by shipping world-class creative.
Your role will be to partner closely with our growth marketers, engineers and PM’s to thoughtfully design and execute a variety of digital experiences that help convert prospects to customers. You’ll take ownership of an important stage of our customer experience and be involved in the entire product development process, from early research and visioning to shipping pixel-perfect work.
Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:
- Design clear and compelling user experiences that encourage users to take the next step with Gusto
- Design flows and experiences that optimize for growth while also building our brand and delighting users
- Optimize landing pages and user funnels
- Use quantitative and qualitative methods to develop a deep understanding of target audiences and user behavior
- Go beyond best practices to innovate and develop world-class growth marketing strategies
- Apply strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders from marketing, product, engineering, and more
- Brainstorm, iterate, and present your work to a diverse set of stakeholders and partners
- Have a growth mindset. Continue to iterate on ideas and know that our work is never done
Here’s what we’re looking for:
- 5+ years of interactive design experience focused on growth initiatives
- Experience establishing information architecture, wireframes, and visual design systems
- Working knowledge of design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.
- Understanding of design implications on development, responsive design, UX best practices, usability principles, and user-research experience
- Ability to work independently and identify and solve problems effectively and efficiently
- Experience collaborating closely with product and engineering teams
- Strong organizational and time management skills
Nice to have:
- Experience with prototyping tools, Keynote, 2D and 3D motion, or video editing
- Working knowledge of front-end code (HTML, CSS, Javascript, etc.)
