Summary

The Creative Manager partners with the Director of Creative & Brand to ensure projects align with the overall vision and strategy of the Workiva brand. The Creative Manager will work cross functionally, aligning with the design team and keeping the creative process moving forward. This position will be instrumental in balancing day-to-day tactics and long term strategy as well as seamlessly implementing our brand design systems to ensure consistency and quality of the brand experience at every touch point.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and champion creative consistency across all channels
  • Monitor business and team goals to ensure projects are in alignment
  • Establish and implement design systems and processes of our brand that allow the team to scale
  • Relentlessly and resourcefully improving existing processes and making suggestions to our systems to ensure proper execution of our brand
  • Supports a team of designers and partners closely with web dev, production, operations and others to develop & ensure strong design solutions
  • Oversee operations of our library of creative assets
  • Oversee and coordinate production/creative and expedite creative output and continuity
  • Work closely with and report to the CD on project flow and provide updates on any obstacles or issues with projects or personnel
  • Balance projects and Creative team workloads daily with strong delegation, adjusting assignments and deadlines accordingly
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the design team with expert prioritization by coordinating with marketing leads to align priorities, assign resources, and ensure deadlines are met
  • Works with marketing leads to resolve identified roadblocks
  • Collaborates with marketing leads to build processes to mitigate back channel requests
  • Solve design problems with solutions that delight
  • Provide efficient resource planning, knowing when to engage freelance support
  • Manage freelancer/agency relationships ensuring they are an extension of the team
  • Adapt to and produce work for different areas of our brand and project types in a fast-paced environment
  • Provide context, guidance & support per job as the team works thru objectives
  • Provide training to new hires and ensure they have the right tools to be successful
  • Support the overarching integration of the marketing activities throughout the company by ensuring that all affected departments are kept in the communication loop on project status
  • As needed, the creative manager will work with stakeholders to adjust job deadlines while still balancing and meeting the teams needs
  • Self-manage while giving progress updates on existing projects and communicate any foreseeable issues

What You'll Need

Education

  • Undergraduate Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field.

Skills
  • Must possess a positive team spirit with strong communication skills.
  • Highly proactive with a keen ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong communicator and keen ability to relay information across silos
  • Great sense of creativity and passion for design that makes brands shine in the real world.
  • Always on top of current trends and cultural mindsets.
  • Great team-building skills, an inspiring voice for creative bravery.
Experience
  • 5+ years experience as a graphic designer, production or similar creative role
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience with Figma a plus
  • Solid presentation design skills
  • Expert multi-tasker in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience leading a team of creatives, creative resources or doing Art Direction preferred
  • Experience designing for 100+ person events, a plus
  • Experience with film & animation preferred

 

Travel
  • 10%

 

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
  • Reliable internet access for any period of time working remotely, not in a Workiva office.

How You'll Be Rewarded

 

  • Base Pay Range in Colorado: $100,000- $133,000

  • Discretionary bonus typically paid annually

  • Restricted Stock Units granted at time of hire

  • 401 (k) match


The base pay range represents the low and high end of the hiring range for this job. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to relevant skills, experience, and capabilities.
