Art Director
The GHX Content and Creative team is responsible for the definition and evolution of the GHX brand, ensuring inspiring development and implementation of a best-in-class brand and storytelling across various media formats and marketing channels.
Reporting to the Executive Director of Global Brand and Creative Services, the ideal candidate will bring a mix of artistic, marketing, and business expertise to the position. You'll work with our marketing, content, product and corporate teams to evolve and grow the GHX brand across all marketing channels; especially online and digital ecosystem; including but not limited to company’s website, landing pages, ads, email comm’s, paid & organic social media, digital and in-person events, and other materials and initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for art direction and understand the importance of the finest detail while seeing the big picture. You are an expert in your craft and are highly skilled in visual design, concepting and communication. You will have the ability to guide, evaluate, and elevate design execution in ways that continually raise the bar in everything we do. You are a strategic thinker who leverages design to communicate effortlessly with a target audience. The ideal candidate will identify new and creative opportunities to connect with customers and welcomes the opportunity to try new things.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Content and Creative team to develop inspiring and high-quality visual design approaches across multiple media formats and marketing channels
- Execute visual designs, using our corporate design system, for a variety of business units and corporate initiatives with respect for deadlines
- Help develop and inform creative briefs that provide direction and clarify business goals to inspire creative concepts and ideas
- Provide art direction, guidance and oversight to external creative freelancers, agencies and production partners
- Conceptualize campaign ideas using the GHX visual brand to life across all channels, especially digital
- Present ideas and concepts to stakeholders, collaborate and iterate based on feedback from cross-functional partners
- Assess and evolve visual brand standards on a set cadence
- Bring new ideas to the team by remaining curious and current on industry design and marketing trends and technology
- Develop creative presentations, mockups and wireframes to present and socialize new ideas
Key Duties
- Develop creative briefs based on marketing initiatives and campaign goals
- Establish and oversee deliverables, timelines and budgets
- Apply senior level design experience to various marketing channels including collateral, website, social media, PowerPoint presentations and other various formats
- Identify, onboard and manage external resources independently
- Provide scope, specific art direction and feedback to a variety of vendors
- Produce concepts, sketches, wireframes and storyboards to visualize ideas and approaches
- Attend meetings, distill needs and define clear next steps
- Apply our corporate design system to a variety of events, such as National Sales Meeting, Summit and regional events

- Deep understanding of typography, color, layout, and brand systems implementation

- A strong collaborator who can work well with different personalities and inspire others
- Possesses a can-do attitude and is always willing to find a way to make it work
- Ability to manage many various projects and remain calm under pressure
- Concisely convey creative concepts with an understanding of business and campaign objectives
- Agile trained and/or ability to pivot quickly and balance multiple high-priority projects
- Natural communicator, both verbally and written
- Exceptionally organized
Required Education, Certifications, and Experience
- 8+ years of relevant industry experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Advertising, or equivalent design-related field
- Experience in managing a team of designers and/or contractors
- Portfolio featuring dynamic campaigns in digital, social, experiential, and/or traditional mediums
- Ability to speak to design decisions and examples of how you have applied design systems to projects
- Team player with entrepreneurial spirit and roll up your sleeve’s mentality
- Travel requirement - ~10%
Estimated Salary range for this position: $105,000 - $147,000
The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the GHX’s salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. The base salary is one component of GHX’s total compensation package for employees.
