The University of Denver has the distinction of being the oldest independent university in the Rocky Mountain region, giving it a tradition of 150 years of academic excellence. The University of Denver’s College of Professional and Continuing Studies, University College, is a leader in adult education, providing fully accredited and affordable educational experiences specifically designed for busy adults.

We are currently seeking adjunct faculty with extensive industry experience in web design and development who can facilitate the learning experience of graduate students in career-focused programs. Applicants should strive to exemplify our values: honor the individual, champion learning, transform lives, work together, and pursue excellence.

Position Summary

The role of adjunct faculty in the Web Design and Development concentration in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) program is to teach adult learners in the master's and certificate concentrations. Our courses are offered in three primary formats including on-campus, online, and hybrid; for a select few courses we use a HiFlex course format.

The University College uses Canvas, a Learning Management System (LMS), for all courses. As an adjunct faculty member, you will be provided with a complete course in a Canvas “course container.” The course container comprises certain elements that you may not change, including the course title, course description, course learning outcomes, and the course gradebook. Within the course container you will be provided with a syllabus template for you to design your course syllabus. In order to encourage best practices in teaching, each University College adjunct faculty member must adhere to the University College’s Baseline Faculty Expectations (BFE) that cover four areas: 1) before your class begins, 2) course management expectations, 3) course engagement expectations, and 4) communication expectations.
