Markit on Demand’s Market Data Engineering team is looking for talented Technical Data Analyst who are excited to help build software systems which can handle hundreds of thousands of updates per second servicing many major financial clients. You can be designer, engineer, data scientists  or any combination as long as you are delivering with impact . All of your effort will help us and our clients  answer some of most challenging questions while  normalizing  our real time data feeds and find a ways to generate new insights into our data.  

Youll be joining a team responsible for using and developing cutting-edge technology and project management techniques to enhance our acquisition, data flow and automation processes. As an individual contributor, you will be responsible for developing technical solutions that improve internal processes , data quality and generate new and unique data sets.

Some other things we look for:

• A good sense of humor, eagerness to learn, and a drive to be successful.

•Experience with Python, T-SQL, XML, and bash

•Familiar with Exchange data (Equities, derivatives, Fixed income, Forex markets, etc)

•Familiar with Linux

•Background in the financial markets, economic theory, or statistics is a plus.

•Effectively communicate progress and success to stakeholders in compelling, creative, and accessible ways

•Develop and deliver reports & requirements documentation

• Building a rapport with programmers - keeping them focused and projects moving

•Experience with automating production systems

• In-depth knowledge of Linux/Unix
