Sr Analyst, Business Systems

| Greater Denver Area

Job Description:
This position is responsible for gathering, analyzing, and creating comprehensive work products documenting requirements, including validation and traceability, for existing and new software applications. This position understands how organizations function to accomplish their purpose, understands Agile Software Development and regularly spends time reviewing, analyzing and evaluating software applications. This role assesses user needs, documents requirements, writes stories and assists in the design, development, testing, implementation, and documentation of software applications. This position works with product managers, project managers, developers, designers and end users to ensure software applications meet business requirements. This role performs competitive analysis research, provides gap and cost/benefit analysis for critical business decisions as well as prepares presentations and presents to Senior Leadership.
Responsibilities:

Requires competency in customer focus, change & innovation, strategic thinking, relationship building & influencing, talent management, results focus and inspirational leadership.
Utilizes Lean Product Management principles and Agile methodology to lead design, development and implementation of user interfaces that fulfill user requirements and are intuitive, user friendly, highly functional and professional.
Accurately translates business requirements into functional requirements and technical specifications for the development of new software applications or for enhancements to existing systems within an Agile environment. Has ability to use story mapping techniques to define a project and develops clear and concise user stories. Understands how projects align to broader organizational goals and can explain business benefit of projects.
An expert at eliciting and evaluating information gathered from multiple sources, reconciles conflicts, decomposes high-level information into details, distinguish presented user requests from the underlying true needs, and distinguish solution ideas from requests. Fosters business knowledge and understanding among business systems analysts and project stakeholders. Brokers consensus among stakeholders with conflicting needs. Invests in stakeholder management and possesses ability gain stakeholder trust. Leads the preparation of documentation and presentations and is poised when interacting with and presenting to senior level audience.
Supports the development and review (from content to final draft) of user guides, training classes, and other end user documentation for applications and processes. Engages in all facets of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to assure software applications meet business and user requirements. Includes preparing and executing software test plans, researching problem reports and resolving issues when applicable.
Develops a business analysis work-plan to manage own tasks, deliverables, schedule and assists other knowledge area BSA's in development of their work-plans. Provides mentoring and daily direction to analysts.
Provide SME leadership and consulting support on complex tasks. Initiate and execute initiatives to improve the processes, procedures, and tools utilized by the team. Reviews deliverables and provides input for other analysts. Strong understanding of Software Development Lifecycle and all business processes.
Responsible for other Duties/Projects as needed.

Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 - 8+ years of systems analysis experience
Solid understanding of software development life-cycle mythologies
Proven ability to effectively apply techniques which consists of textual formats, modals and diagrams
Solid understanding of business process and system process within multiple knowledge areas
Excellent written and communication skills; effectively communicates with all employee levels and levels of management
Proven experience with identifying and resolving requirement impacting issues, working with members of project management team and business SMEs/executives to develop and implement viable solutions
Demonstrated track record of strong consulting skills and experience to bridge the gap between technology and business operations to enable organizations to make effective decisions
Certificate in Business Systems Analysis (preferably in a quantitative discipline) or equivalent work experience
Technical writing skills producing clear and unambiguous deliverables
Must be proficient and have experience using MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Visio
Familiar with different software testing processes
While this is not a programmer/developer position, basic programming knowledge is a plus
Industry experience a plus
Bachelors Degree (Computer Science, Math or Business) from four-year college or university
Minimum Qualifications:
At least 18 years of age. Legally authorized to work in the United States. Pre-employment background screen.
