About the position

We are looking for a knowledgeable and hands-on Data person to join our team.  The person in this position must love data, and have a demonstrated working knowledge of the use of the everyday tools need to do exploratory data analysis, model, and product creation needed when working in data science.  You will be collaborating with the VP of AI Technologies to build out descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive solution capabilities across all segments of the IntelePeer Atmosphere product, as well as  internally focused analysis work needed to provide the company with critical business intelligence.

The ideal candidate will have not only solid SQL skills, and experience with Pandas or similar data manipulation libraries, but also knowledge of cloud data persistence products in GCP, IBM, or AWS, with BigQuery being preferred. Any voice, telecom or NLP knowledge is a plus.

This is a highly visible and strategic position at IntelePeer that will play a key role in the next leg of our data products growth.

REPORTS TO: VP of AI Technologies or one of VP’s direct managers

Position responsibilities

  • IntelePeer is a product and data driven company, so position will be responsibility for helping lead the discovery and development of omni-channel data and analytics solutions built around a highly scalable voice and data core
  • Must guide the data mining and data science processes, so familiarity with data acquisition, cleaning, algorithmic assessment of data, and related activities, or a knowledge of a methodology like CRISP-DM, is needed
  • Interaction with the product and engineering teams need to achieve data goals

Education

  • BS or BA degree in Economics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Operations Research, or related fields, with a Masters preferred  

Expertise & experience

  • At least 4 years of using Python, working in an IDE or Jupyter, and with libraries like pandas, to address data science problems is needed.  Consideration will be given to those with 3 years or less that also have experience in another language/tool like R or SPSS/SAS, or a Masters degree
  • Strong SQL skills, ideally with experience in a non-relational environment like BigQuery
  • 4-7 years of professional experience
  • Familiarity with BI Tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Business objects, with Looker preferred
  • Ability to perform exploratory data analysis, descriptive statistics, and visualization
  • Experience with AI/ML pipelines or equivalent cloud services
  • Pluses – work experience in GCP; exposure to Kafka or MSK; work with NLP
  • Preference given to someone with exposure to telecom or application detail records analysis
