The Team: The Research Signals group within QAR provides independent research and investment consulting services to the institutional asset management community. The group researches and develops individual factors and multi-factor models across a range of asset classes by applying a systematic evaluation process to a variety of fundamental, technical, industry-specific and alternative data sources.
The Impact: This is a hands-on role focused on quantitative research across global equities - building new factors, models and trading signals based off various financial and alternative sources of data. This role will be instrumental in expanding our research offerings to our global client base of top tier hedge funds, pension funds and other asset managers. This position reports to the Head of Quantitative Research.

Responsibilities:

• Research structured and unstructured datasets to identify signals useful in a trading context.
• Present results internally and externally and publish findings via research reports.
• Contribute to various research initiatives to uphold the group's reputation as a leading provider of quantitative research.
• Work closely with research leadership, product specialists and clients to identify and prioritize marketable research ideas.
• Train and mentor junior researchers.

What We're Looking For:

• Advanced degree in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics or related quantitative discipline
• 8-10 years' experience in a quantitative environment, with a track record of developing and launching quantitative products.
• Comfortable working with large datasets and a high level of attention to detail.
• Strong proficiency in Python or Matlab, and SQL. Experience in Machine Learning or NLP preferred.
• Team player with an ability to communicate complex concepts in a simple manner.

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $125,900 to $261,400. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
