Senior Manager of Engineering, Data Connectivity

Alteryx, Inc. is looking for a Senior Manager of Engineering of Data Connectivity. In this role you will own the technical strategy, delivery, quality, and execution of Alteryx Data Connectivity both locally and in the cloud. You will partner with Product and technical leaders in the development of unified data connectivity strategy to provide a seamless and simple connection experience for the ever-growing wide array of Alteryx-supported data sources (files, databases, business applications, etc.) with a goal of providing consistent, synchronized connections and secure credentials across the breadth of our Platform.

The successful candidate will have experience and desire to manage a broad range of complex issues as well as stakeholders, with great ability to get things done while gaining cooperation and respect across the organization. Responsibilities:

·Partner with Product to drive the implementation of the global data connectivity initiatives

·Deliver amazing engineering outcomes through your teams in area of ownership, building reliable, scalable, and highly performant product, services, and features using industry best practices

·Demonstrate knowledge of database and cloud connectivity coupled with secure credential management.

·Work with the product and engineering teams determining technical feasibility and timelines, execution strategy, requirements, and features and to determine short and long-term goals

·Work with Product Engineering, Information Security, Application Security, and Legal to ensure our products meet security and compliance requirements.

·Manage vendor relationships, both resources and products, as required, to deliver both local and cloud data connectivity for our platform.

·Act as a strong advocate for quality in our products, developing/enhancing standards, and procedures to ensure quality standards are not only met but exceeded

·Work with fellow Engineering leadership to optimize our software delivery processes and tools, leveraging/establishing delivery, and quality metrics to identify opportunities

·Hire, inspire, and lead multiple high-performing, multi-site teams (Broomfield, Prague, India)

·Plan and allocate resources to meet product engineering goals

Required Skills:

·8+ years of total experience in software development with at least 4 years of hands-on experience and 3 years of people management experience in a software industry; preferably in data analytics

·Bachelor’s degree in technical field (science, computer science, data & databases, etc.)

·Demonstrable experience and interest in architecting and delivering software products

·Experience in on-premises, cloud, SaaS and PaaS environments

·Experience building and leading global engineering and operations teams

·Deep understanding and commitment to software engineering principles/processes (e.g., Lean, Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, TDD, XP) and continuous improvement through measurement

·Cultivates an environment where associates respect and adhere to company values and ethics.

·Advanced relationship management and communication skills, including partnering and consulting with senior leaders

·Strong skills in critical thinking, decision making, problem solving, and attention to detail

Valued Skills:

·Preferably experience working with analytics tools, databases, cloud data connectivity, SQL, ODBC/JDBC, and secure credential management

Compensation:

Alteryx is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role in Broomfield is $117,000 - $198,900. This position is also remote-friendly and, as such, compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. This role is eligible for variable compensation including bonus and stock grants.
