Job Description:
As a Senior Data Engineer at Ibotta, Inc., you will lead the development of stable, scalable, and repeatable data-driven features enabling the function and operational stability of Ibotta's Data Lake, including both batch data pipelines and event-based architecture heavily leveraging the AWS cloud data stack and tools. You will also lead cross-functional efforts across platform engineering, analytics, and product management to implement data-driven capabilities.Additional responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Architect distributed systems, frameworks, and design patterns using Scala, Java, or Python leveraging Hadoop/Spark to collect and analyze large-scale datasets in batch and real-time.
- Manage integration standards, data governance and data security.
- Administer, monitor and operationally maintain Ibotta's data infrastructure.
- Mentor junior and mid-level data engineers in data architecture principles and best practices.
- Advocate for and evangelize data engineering capabilities and value across the broader technology organization.
This position is located in Denver, Colorado or with the option of full-time remote. Candidates must live in the United States, Canada, or Mexico.
This position does not supervise direct reports.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience building applications for data pipelines using Java, SQL, and Hadoop.
- Experience in data integration leveraging a modern cloud platform (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Experience in data architecture and architecture best practices.
- Experience with software engineering methods and best practices (Agile development, CI/CD, etc.)
- Experience in Scala, Java, Python, and SQL.
- Experience identifying strategic initiatives and architecting solutions.
- Experience with real-time or event-based architecture.
All employment offers are contingent upon a successful background check. Salary (Annual): $145,000.00
