The Job:
Suited Connector is growing rapidly and with this growth, so are our needs for solid data engineers. Our business is based on "decisions-by-data" and we are looking for a collaborative and self-driven Senior Data Engineer who can develop, test and implement reliable data solutions to join our Enterprise Data Solutions (EDS) team! The Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing new cloud data technologies. Your partnership with our Core Tech Services team and business analysts will directly impact critical business decisions.
Role details:

  • Design, develop, deploy, and scale modern Data warehouse and ETL solutions
  • Work closely with the Business Analytics team to build and maintain tabular models, datasets, reports, and dashboards
  • Create maintainable projects with documentation using Bitbucket, JIRA and Confluence
  • Participate in rotating on call schedule to support infrastructure, usually no more than once per month


Key Qualifications:

  • BS in Computer Science/ Information Technology OR 3+ years of data engineering experience
  • Demonstrable experience designing and implementing modern data warehouse/data lake solutions
  • Advanced experience building complex SQL queries and stored procedures
  • Proficiency with professional software engineering practices; including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations is a plus
  • Experience building tabular data models with SQL Server Analysis Services or similar tools


Preferred Skills:

  • AWS experience with S3, SNS, Lambda, RDS, ECS, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, and CodePipeline
  • Software development experience with C#, ideally .NET Core 3.1+
  • Experience with modern cloud-based data warehouse and tools (e.g. Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, FiveTran, dbt, etc.) is a plus
  • Experience using the full suite of Microsoft BI tools (SQL Server, SSRS, SSIS, SSAS)
  • Source control systems and their associated ecosystems, e.g., Git and Github/Bitbucket

  • Exceptional written, communication, and presentation skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work on a small team and self-manage
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Passion for innovation, analytics and solving new challenges every day
  • Driven to learn and master new technologies and techniques, to take initiative, and to contribute to the development of the department
