We are now seeking a Freelance Senior Data Engineer to join us on this journey. 

As a Freelance Senior Data Engineer in this area, you'll help us shape and build SumUp's data platform & synchronisation to facilitate the data needs for operational, and communicational, platforms. You'll join the team in Berlin focusing on delivering fast, reliable and scalable synchronisation to our CRM Infrastructure. 

What you’ll do

• Help to define and take ownership of the data synchronisation projects 
• Collaborate with colleagues across the organisation to ensure scalable and reliable synchronisation for operational data needs
• Ensure data is discoverable by integrating a data cataloguing solution into our platform to allow one-stop querying of all of our data sources
• Maintain, monitor and improve the team's infrastructure and data pipelines
• Work closely with stakeholders to find optimal solutions 
• Contribute to our data platform architecture
• Engage in knowledge sharing activities with your team and beyond

You’ll be great for this role if

• You’re proficient in both SQL and Python
• You are experienced in AWS (Amazon Web Services) 
• You have experience building data pipelines with Airflow (or similar)
• You’re familiar with infrastructure as code (IaaC) tool such as Terraform or Ansible 
• You have experience with CI/CD.
• You enjoy working with domain experts and engineers to solve problems and impact the landscape of SumUp's data platform
• You are available to start within 2 weeks
• You are available to commit for at least 6 months
