The Phillips McDougall team is highly respected in the industry for its market data and analysis. Our analysts produce a range of databases, analysis reports and topic-based bulletins on the corporate strategy, operational and financial status of agrochemical and seed companies, as well as the key regional, crop and product markets. The Seed Service analyst will work closely with the Phillips McDougall team to Develop a deep understanding of the global seed market and an ability to analyse current status and identify key trends and write authoritative, impactful analysis which gives our clients unique insight

You will Identify, acquire and organise seeds market data, evaluate external and proprietary sources and when needed, develop models and other analytical tools to evaluate specific markets in order to analyse and comment on implications to the global seeds market.

The role will give you opportunity to network closely with clients, creating your own presence as an analyst in the industry and to contribute to client support and consultancy projects. You will also have the chance to make presentations at client offices and industry events and represent Phillips McDougall as a thought leader in the seeds industry.

You will interact closely with colleagues in the wider Crop Science Group working across our insights, market data and analysis and consulting teams to create authoritative, original content which informs and supports our readers in their business planning activities.  Our reporters become experts in the areas they cover and develop extensive contacts and networks in the industry to enhance their reputation and insights.

You will have a Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent with enthusiasm, motivation and a real interest in learning new publishing and business skills.

We are seeking candidates with knowledge of the crop protection or seeds markets and, ideally, some industry experience of producing market analysis in a business intelligence (market, competitor Intelligence), product development, strategic marketing, strategic planning or similar function in the agribusiness or chemical sector. Alternatively, you may have experience as an analyst in an investment bank or corporate financial institution

You will have excellent written as well as verbal communication skills and be comfortable in writing about complex or technical information in a structured, interesting way and ability to uncover unique insights.

 

Excellent organizational skills including time management, the ability to plan and deliver products to meet deadlines are all key qualities for our analysts plus a collaborative and team oriented approach, great attention to detail, strong networking skills and the ability to maintain a wide network of contacts.

 

You will engage regularly with the industry and attend meetings and conferences with the aim of developing contacts, building your understanding of market dynamics, and establishing your industry profile.
