Sales Operations Associate

Simple Energy is a Boulder, CO-based venture-backed SaaS Software and eCommerce company. Simple Energy is a Certified B-Corp and a graduate of the TechStars accelerator program. Simple Energy works with electric and gas utilities to help motivate and enable customers to save energy via targeted motivational messaging and instant-rebate eCommerce. Simple Energy has raised over $10mm from leading Silicon Valley and Boulder VCs and angel investors; the company currently has over 65 employees.

About the role:

Simple Energy is recruiting an experienced Sales Operations Associate to work closely with our Utility Sales and Solutions teams. This person will develop and manage productivity tools (e.g., CRM deployment, data objects, communication tools), and supporting marketing efforts that drive market awareness and sales engagement (e.g., outbound and inbound campaigns, webinars, conferences, etc.). The ideal candidate will be a passionate self-starter that has experience in an entrepreneurial sales organization, with a background in successfully managing sales operations and support throughout the sales lifecycle while driving efficient internal processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage new CRM migration and deployment to support marketing and sales efforts
  • Support sales operations including CRM reporting, data analysis, bid evaluation and proposal strategies
  • Configure CRM software to meet the needs of sales, client success, finance, and marketing
  • Run a weekly sales meeting and track the overall pipeline progress from lead generation to closing
  • Support marketing and sales special projects and campaigns
  • Qualify and initiate conversations with inbound leads to effectively communicate the Simple Energy value proposition
  • Assist with developing and maintaining critical reports for strategic partner management
  • Manage the Simple Energy demo environment to empower sales representatives and properly convey the product mix
  • Assist finance with sales & revenue forecasts
  • Develop sales training & sales pitch decks for specific products
  • Work cross-departmentally with sales, finance, marketing and client success groups
  • Leverage Excel to build energy savings and financial models in support of proposals and sales process
  • Develop graphics, powerpoint slides and sales materials as needed

Requirements:

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a fast-paced environment with responsibility for sales operations, or similar
  • Very strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills with ability to demonstrate competency through interview process  
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong computer skills, including but not limited to Google suite, Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software
  • Preferred: experience using SalesForce software packages
  • Extreme detail-orientation and follow through, especially while working independently
  • A plus if you have a visual design background or experience in development of visual materials
  • BA/BS degree from an accredited 4-year university/college
